A reinvention of a historic Spectrum best seller, the new Glam Clam was designed to be a more sophisticated luxury product target specifically at the customer who had bought the original product years previously but now had grown up and wanted something more luxe. 

Where the original makeup bag featured 2D PU panels with stitching to achieve the shell detail, the new version saw the development of a custom 3D mould to create a subtle but opulent design in ivory vegan leather. The 'clam' colours were used to create an abstract shell design lining print in lilac satin, while the brushes were a pearly peach with a pale gold ferrule and rounded brush shapes to create glowful, beachy makeup looks.

The bag was designed to be a fashion accessory as well as a beauty one, I added a gold chain strap with irregular pearl detailing and zip-pull making the most of the pearl focused trend at the time of design. I also added elastic loop features to the bag so the brushes could be held on the sides and not the bottom allowing room for other items such as a phone making it more functional as a bag and not just a makeup bag!
